You are a continuing student if you are/were enrolled in academic courses during the spring semester prior to the summer term.

Returning Appalachian students

You are a returning student if you have not been enrolled for one or more semesters and plan to continue in your studies at Appalachian as a degree-seeking student (either as a graduate or an undergraduate).

Non-degree students who have attended Appalachian

You are a non-degree student if you previously completed a semester or summer session at Appalachian as an undergraduate and you plan to return to your parent institution after the summer session program, or you previously completed a semester or summer session at Appalachian and now wish to take a course for your own edification.

Non-degree students who have not attended Appalachian

You are a non-degree student if you have never attended Appalachian before and you plan to return to your parent institution after your summer session program or you are a non-degree student if you have not enrolled in an institution of higher education and wish to take a course for your own edification.

New undergraduate students

You are a new undergraduate student if you have never attended Appalachian before and you wish to apply to an undergraduate degree program. New undergraduate students also include those who have graduate credit from Appalachian but have never taken an undergraduate course at Appalachian.
